There's an unexpected opportunity that has arisen in the past few months. Last summer I was approached by a modeling/acting agent from Hollywood and was offered an opportunity to get in to the industry. It sounded fun so I decided to give it a go. Not wanting to distract my athletic endeavors, I have only been going to one audition a month. The nice thing is that I've been doing this for almost 6 months and have made the cut in all but one audition. I thought you might enjoy seeing some pics:
This was in a studio on one of the the main strips of Hollywood. I was a fitness/ab model in an infomercial for a new exercise product.
By far my least favorite part of the job. Wearing makeup is awkward enough... having someone else apply it?.... well, you can see the nervous laughter.
This was a shoot for a London based stock photography company.
I got to do this shoot on my home track. I also did a shoot for the Asics 2008 fall catalog, but didn't get any pictures. That was at the Home Depot Center in L.A. and was really cool.Last week I did a Ford commercial shot here in San Diego.
The view from my office isn't so bad. I mean, the crashing waves and seagulls can get a little noisy and you're always getting sand on your feet, not to mention the warm sun in your face, but other than that, it's alright.
I got to drive a 2008 convertible Mustang through downtown with police escort. It was a little scary knowing that the attached camera was worth about 3 times as much as the already-expensive-car. No pressure.
I nearly face-planted a jump on the mt. bike in front of the F-150. That would be some great footage.
Here's the director giving me a passionate 10 minute sales pitch on bio-diesel instead of hybrid.
Smile and nod... just smile and nod.
And last but not least, I thought I'd leave you with this little nugget.

A faked finish with a goofball expression. I'm not sure if that's a victory cheer or a "Praise the Lord they actually hired me!"
