Life lately...

Babysitting baby Lucas
I love this guy. I love feeding him, playing with him, walking with him, running errands with him, changing him into my favorite outfits... he's the highlight of my Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Lorean is taking evening classes...and, well, that means we get Lucas duty. yahoo!!

Due to Jonathan and I's busy schedules lately, he decided to take me on a "date day". Yes an entire day dedicated to dating & wooing me. Ok, so he does those things every day...but this really was a "date day". We were so over due for a moment like this. We decided to take a trip up to Oakley Headquarters just south of Los Angeles. During our drive up the coast, I found the next place I want to move to. It is outrageously beautiful. It knocked my socks off. I didn't think I would ever really care to live directly on the coast...and then these glorious condo's appeared before me on a cliff overlooking a beach and I was ready to pack my bags and head to north county San Diego. We stood there for a good 20 minutes staring at the dolphins playing in the waves. I turned away from the water to do something ridiculous like fix my scarf or something & missed my opportunity to see a whale. By the time Jonathan had grabbed my attention, the whale was gone.

Jonathan has been working his tail off lately. His days are often taken over by training, coaching, training, therapy, writing, videoing, editing, coaching, training, and BlueChowder.com. When he's not training himself, then he's training his highschool athletes, and when he's not training his highschool athletes, then he's volunteering to coach the girls college team...who desperatly needs good coaching these days. BlueChowder.com has developed & enhanced the artist and teacher inside him, but like most other jobs, there are deadlines to meet & other people counting on you to pull through. His plate is very full right now. He will be leaving this Thursday for a track meet in Arizona. He will return on Saturday and then leave again on Monday for Argentina. He will be there for a week and then come back home to visitors for the next two weeks. (don't worry mom, we are very excited about you guys coming :)

I'm so impressed with the way he's handling it. He put a little chair outside our place that faces toward a beautiful valley. He's gone out there quite a few nights to sit in silence. However, I'm not sure how much "silence" he actually accomplishes. You see we have a little buddy that lives down in this valley and he must be very sick...because all throughout the night you can hear him hacking up things from the depths of his lungs...or stomach? I'm not quite sure if he's coughing or throwing up...because it really sounds like he's throwing up. It gets my gag reflexes going. On my way out to the car in the morning I usually cross paths with him. He must be hard of hearing too, because he never acknowledges me when I speak to him. Since we have no idea what his name is, we've decided to call him "our hacker".

Wow, you guys sound pretty busy. Baby Lucas must be quite the catharsis:) I just got to watch David and The Hud for Jamie today and it was marvelous. I think that sometime, you guys should come up here for a visit and watch them, too... or just maybe because it'd be great to see you two! Keep on keepin' on and we'll keep praying for you!
